Hunter Princess Blog Hop – An Annoying H/J Trend

I do not like white fleece girths.

Why do they have to be white? White only looks good on white horses.

Barely even notice it. Very pretty.

Why can't there be brown or black fleece girths? I think it breaks up the cleanliness of the horse and draws your eye right to the girth (haha, now you will only be able to see the fleece!).

White fleece on bay horse? All I can see is the white double lines. I barely even notice the rider's eyes are closed, I'm so distracted.

Ahhhh. Beautiful. Love a horse in appropriately colored tack to blend with their color and esp. sans fleece girth. Then I am really drawn to this horse's gorgeous turnout and those knees!!

  1. Fleece girths were all the rage for a while, but I believe if you have quality leather tack and clean it, 99% of horses do not need a fleece girth. Plus I agree, it does really break up the picture!

  2. 2 of my horses get rubs from anything but fleece girths so it just isn't an option for my horses.

    1. I totally get that. I just think white should only be for white horses! I wish makers would make other colors readily available - because that's probably what stops most people from using an appropriate shade for their horse.

  4. Agree with you. I use a girth like this for schooling at home since Simon has sensitive skin, but at shows I bust out our leather girth.

  5. I. Am. So. With. You. I do not understand why you take $$$,$$$ horse, a $,$$$ saddle, $$$ bridle and $,$$$ in show fees and then tack on a gross, been through the washing machine 42 times nylon, faux fleecey girth. Looks. Like. Crap.

  6. Good one! I love how your photos show just how distracting it really is. I school in fleece most of the time but show in a quality leather girth.

I've never seen them in anything but white. If they're out there they should be more widely available for those who have sensitive horses.
